Where to file a complaint against a local daycare?

I was hired at a dayare for the one yr olds and the "teacher" who is barley allowed to go to a rated "R" movie starts yelling at me in front of the kids and other teachers. Threatens me and my child while in the class room and in front of the supervisor, and still has her job. She and her staff during nap time talk about oral s*x and drugs. (while kids are in the room). This is a daycare and these are the people watching people's children. The Director apologized but never asked for my story.

  1. Tell the cops, they'll bust their butts.  Also, try social services, they prefer the venomous approach, which is what these pigs deserve.

  2. they have to be licensed through somewhere find out there and go from there probably something to do with child welfare agency I would think

  3. you could try the better business bureau

  4. find out what agence they are accredited through and file a complaint with them  you can also call dss and file a 51 A .  Now 51 A's are for when children are being abused or neglected so it may not be the best way to go but it would get the directors attention.  As a teacher i would not feel comfortable working in an environment like that.  You need to work with people who will back you up if something goes wrong.  If something happened to one of the kids they may try to blame the person they don't like ( it seems like that may be you )

  5. Hi Im sorry I dont know where in the world you are.

In England we report to OFSTED (www.ofsted.gov.uk) as they inspection and register childcare.

If you dont have anything like this then maybe you should contact whoever is incharge of child's well-being! You could also speak to another day care and ask them who you should complain to as they would know!

  6. call your local licensing specialist - those are interesting stories and I am sure she would like to hear them.

  7. it depend on where you live. over here in Florida we go to  licensing and they will send someone to the center at once without the knowledge of te center to get to the the story and take actions. try to find licensing for that county and call them. what is going on is a serious issues they need to be reported.

  8. In the USA you can report to the job and family services department for your county.  As a director, I know that it is a licensing requirement to have the complaint number posted.  I would suggest going to your county website for job and family services and it should have a number.  If you don't get anywhere with that you can always go to another center in the same county and pretend you are a prospective parent looking for child care for your child.  Ask where the licensing information is and the number will be posted.  If it isn't posted just ask.  That is quite extreme, but if you feel that it is very important to report this center it may be worth it.  Good Luck :)
