  1. Purchase a Haynes repair manual from your local auto parts store (Advance Auto, Auto Zone, etc.), they contain a wealth of info.

If the oil leak is showing up on the ground just inside the right front tire it may be coming from the crankshaft seal on top of the crank, much work to change out as the front of the engine has to be removed. My daughter's '93 LeBaron was losing almost a quart of oil over a 16 mile commute, changed pan gasket and no difference in loss, replaced seal and problem solved.

As stated poor idling and rough shifting may be connected, fix poor idle and shifting may be improved. Good luck.

  2. 3.0L V-6 engines are notorious for cam seal leaking, both front and rear of the heads, as well as leaking oil out of the PCV breather in the air cleaner box. the latter is due to oil vapors traveling past the baffles in the valve cover or clogged passages in the valve cover on the rear head.  If the engine is not running smoothly, the transaxle will not perform smoothly, so the two problems may be related, these vehicles had there share of trans issues also. Fuel mileage can drop due to a stuck or broken open thermostat, causing the engine to run "cold" and never achieving closed loop operation.

The following sites provide a wealth of information for the Chrysler owner:

  3. 1..any parts store has a shop manual [or can get u one in a day]

2  check engine lite on? advance and other parts stores give free scan..[if u dont know what that means go back to 1.

3.. its a 99..has it EVER been tuned up??

  4. go to a parts store like advance or auto zone... buy either a Chilton's or Hayes manual. They will help you with testst and some diagnosis, butanything beyond basic will give you fits... no substitue for experience. Good luck.
