I'm looking for a psychiatrist in the Tampa area but I have no health insurance and little to no money to spend in general. If anyone has any links or resources they could provide I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

  1. Find a psychiatrist who will allow you to pay them with s*x instead of money.

  2. I have the same problem in vt have u tryed apllying for medicaid u can also go to free clinics or er. I have dealt with 2 hospital social workers who are great at finding funding for people like us who the government ignores in favor of exxon

Also the pyschology/psychiatry programs of local universities may offer fre or low coest sessions with students which i found helpful when i did it years ago. Also u may want to see reg dr who is cheaper and easier to get and give u prescritipns for many but not all the drugs.

Fell fre to Write me with details i have some ideas what works what dont from career and own battles with mental illness

  3. have you tried a family doctor, sometimes they can give you a head start and even prescribe you medicine that he feels necessary for your situation. A Dr. Corrao is who I go to, I live in Tampa. He only charges $60 for a basic visit (I have no insurance) He has prescribed me anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. Good Luck.

  4. Are you sure you need a psychiatrist? I'd check with your doctor first and get evaluated. Tell him your situation and he'll probably direct you to the right person. It would be difficult without insurance though. They're pretty pricey. If all else fails, use the yellow pages!

Good Luck to you though. :]

  5. Here's a list of community resources for your area that I found online.  Try calling some of the numbers listed under Mental Health and counselling.   You might also call your county hospital, if they are not listed here.   The county hospital generally has the resources to refer low income patients to available medical services.
