Where to find audio drivers?

I have just reinstalled windows XP now it tells me that there is a problem with the multimedia audio controller, the pc is a gateway GM5014B, can anyone tell me the best place to download the needed drivers

  1. Do you have the Motherboard Installation Driver disc, it will be on there. If not download Belarc http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html run it and it will tell you all about your system and the Audio System you have, you can then search for the drivers from the manufacturer. Another way is to go into Device Manager and under Sound or Audio properties, click on Update Drivers and when it says Allow to search the internet, agree to it and it will go off and get the drivers for you.

  2. best location for your drivers:

    1. check your recovery cd's that came with the machine.

    2. www.gateway.com

    3. try windows update (custom option, not express) and check the hardware updates available.

    4. check the motherboard manufacturer website of the board in your system.

    5. www.windrivers.com

    6. www.driveragent.com
