I need to find a reliable, scientific source of information about this topic, or maybe two sources, one that is for leaving the Kingdom the way it is and one that is for splitting it....

  1. The best way to do this is to go to University websites, and look under faculty until you find a taxonomy professor--then e-mail and just ask for their opinion. Just be polite and say you were interested in the opnion of a real authority in the field. I bet if you're polite they would be happy to write you a line or two inreply, or point you in the direction of where they go to discuss the current trends. Hope that helps.

  2. You can do a search for some of the newer terms being proposed to redefine the kingdom.

Protista, or Protoctista, or 3 parts (Chromista & Protozoa & Archaezoa) or even into 5 parts (Archaezoa, Euglenozoa, Alveolata, Stramenopila, Rhodophyta)

Archaebacteria and eukaryotes grouped as neomura (new walls) or given separate categories.
