Where to find knitting loom slotted pegs wood or plastic?

i'm looking for these pegs to make some looms for the ladies at

church i would like the plastic ones but will be happy with either ones so if you know were i can find them that would be wonderful it you would share.i have tried Lowes and e bay alredy. Lowes has know idea what they are . Please help

  1. If you are going to make the looms, why not make the pegs also.

    Wood dowels should work if they need to be round.  Cut the slot with a band, scroll, or jig saw.


  2. I can't find anywhere that sells them without them already being attached to a loom.  I'm still looking though...

    But I did come across a website that says cotter pins work well.  http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Make-Yo...  This kind of cotter pin http://www.wilsonmfgco.com/fasteners/cot...  You can make a groove in the bottom of the wood to bend the fastener into place and then add another round under the bottom to secure it.

    Cotter pins work better than nails because they have the groove to guide your hook.
