I want to do a zen garden. I have checked with Home Depot and they have sandbox sand which is tan. I need snow white sand for the Zen garden. Any idea where to find that?

  1. Sannibel Island in Florida has White Sand, so SOFT!

  2. Forget the box stores and find a welding supply or farm supply. Ask for "silica sand", it's as close to white as you can get. It's used for sand blasting and is very white and uniform in size, about the size of the head of pin. Cheap too, only $4-5 for a 40# bag. If you are on a tight budget look at railroad tracks for steep grades or where trains start and stop. The engineer pours this same sand on the rails to give the engine wheels traction.   RScott
