I need, well my boyfriend, a place thats on MARTA busline in Atlanta Ga, thats not over 600 a month rent without utlites, with ultities he cant go over 900 a month. It has to be right there on busline, because he has no car, and works in Buckhead.

He doesn't really care about neighborhood, he just needs his own place, where he can get to work and home easily.

  1. Its been a long time sense ive lived in atlanta, so i don't really know the prices there now. I know back in the day there were several "rooming houses" around midtown and little 5 points that were very reasonable. You had a private room, but may or may not have to share a bathroom.  Maybe he could look into that, just for the time being.    I never lived in one, but i knew people who did, and I don't recall them complaining too much about it.

This was in the early 80's of course, but im sure they still exist in some form.

I dated this weird hippie girl that lived in one. She just wasn't into material things although she made decent money, she simply didn't need much personal space. She rented a room in this giant added to old *** place on 14th street I think and had to share a bathroom with the whole floor. (8 other rooms if i recall)

It was a pretty cool place because everyone eventually became friends even though she was a hippie and I was a biker and there were 2 g*y dudes and some lesbians. One guy was a "street performer" and there was a hateful divorced woman who only talked about what a b*****d her ex huband was and now she had to live here. with us buttheads.

But it was fun in a way. I drank beer with all of them.

The Shady Rest over by the Plaza Drugs  (near ponce and highlands) was always a good cheap place to rent a room if you needed to for a week or three, and to recieve a free education in human abnormalities. I would highly reccomend it to anyone adventurous and tolerant.  A strong stomach may be helpful too.

I stayed there a couple of times just for fun, even though i lived nearby. The rooms really arent (weren't) that bad. It was just the winos and ten dollar  prostitutes hanging out in the lobby that made the place look so crappy. Some rooms even had tv's and little fridges.

I think it was room 207 that i had one time. It had a fridge and a color tv with a coat hanger antenna and a nice big window with a splendid view of a wall 4 feet away.

You can get all the towels you want at the front desk  as long as you only want one, and if you wait untill about 4 am the clerk falls asleep and you can sneak your bike to your room. 207 was a pretty nice room, but the stairs are hard to ride up.

  2. Goodness - why are you posting here?

Why not make the same sign on some pieces of paper and post them on community message boards in the neighborhood you are looking? Many small grocery stores have corkboards for local messages and postings. Why not post your message there and see what happens?
