Where to get a free website

HELP!

I am looking to have a website,

but, i need it to be free. and one where i can make my own site name...

not like on a blog site..help!

You can make your website at any place, and use .tk to have any url replaced by www.yourwebsite.tk for free

You can create a free website with Microsoft Office Live Small Business - http://starturl.com/officelive . It has a free design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. It has 500mb of web space and no ads. MS is giving a free domain name for the 1st year (will need credit card for verification, but only if you want to). This is not just for business websites, works great for other kinds of sites.

Well there are a lot of websites that give you free websites.. but they wont  be very good websites.. just good "free websites."

the only place that will give you a free domain name (like www.mynamehere.com) would be microsoft's website here (http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/?xid... but they only let you use their premade templates and do minor customization so thy may not be right for you. Other than that, the best free hosting service i've ever used is x10hosting.com. you can get a free subdomain from them like "mynamehere.x10hosting.com", but not a top level like ms's site give you. If you own a domain (they're very cheap, like $5 a year or something like that), you can use it, but you have to purchase the domain name yourself.
