Where to get a mosquito net in Malaysia ???

Question

I live in Malaysia and need a mosquito net for my bed, queen size, with posts on the corners (like canopy but no top). It seems that people here dont use mosquito nets because every time i ask somebody they look at me with a baffled expression or direct me to the mosquito screens for windows. In thailand everybody used and so easy to find, but here in KL area, impossible. does anyone have any idea?

maybe in kampung (rural) shops, ask for kelambu.

but the cheapest would be to buy the material from a textile shop, and send it to a seamstress (tukang jahit), they are really cheap and can make anything you want.

Try the old village shop,  an old Chinese shop (colonial style one), or shops that sell camping equipment.  Have you tried the yellow pages in your area ?  ....other wise,ask at the museum....

i think u have to search it in the old hometowns

like around phang , johor , kelantan , tganu , and the others

but definitely not KL !!

in kl , the ones that they sell are only electric ones

how bout u try the ubat nyamuk , spray b4 u go to bed like 1 hour

and use the electric repellent thingy

that will work ..

and close the windows duh !

You can go any textile shops in Kuala Lumpur to enquire about the mosquito net.

If you go to hypermarket in cities, they don't sell it. Because people live in big city don't open their windows at night when they sleep.

So you have to go to smaller town or those sundry shops near/at kampung. Because orang kampung (villager) usually don't use air-con and they like to open windows widely at night. So they use mosquito net every night.

I know Ikea has in the kids' section, but not sure if they do for queen size bed.

And I remember seeing the netting displayed with beds in some furniture shops. If I'm not mistaken, one was selling teakwood furnitures, but sorry, can't recall which one.
