  1. A cockatiel is a good choice. Hand-fed ones cost a little more, but you can be sure they're tame enough to be held. Try asking your local vet or pet store if they know anyone who breeds and sells hand-fed cockatiels. Good luck.

Even if you don't end up taking it out of the cage, it is my experience that cockatiels are more vocal and a lot more entertaining than parakeets.

  2. You can try the web to look up local breeders in your area that breed the type of bird you are looking for - and breeders can usually sell you a hand tame bird (parakeets are a good breed).

  3. Hello.

If you want the hand fed one ( young bird ) then search through the web and find a breeder near you ( breeders are much cheaper and better than pet stores . ) Once you get it , don't forget to hold & spend time with it every day to keep the bonding . Depending on your financial , a keet ( much cheaper ) than a cockateil . It is up to you to decide . Good luck . TM.

  4. Get a parakeet from petco
