  1. Being an IT consultant, I must have Internet access wherever I go. In Vietnam, I have a cell phone/wireless Internet account with EVN Telecom (http://www.evntelecom.com.vn). This is a newer cell phone company compared Viettel and others, which made me leery to use them. My cousin, who has been in the Vietnam telecom industry for several years, recommended EVN and I’ve been very pleased.

I’ve been able to connect to the Internet pretty much everywhere in Vietnam via EVN. This includes riding the 5-Star train from HCMC to Nha Trang, riding a tour bus from Nha Trang to Da Lat, traveling between Ha Noi, Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Tuyen Quan, Vinh and through many very rural regions of Vietnam. In fact, EVN works better than the Sprint/Nextel wireless Internet service I have in the U.S. I’ve been very impressed with EVN.
