Where to get work permit?

I just finished high school. I'm 16, and I don't know where to get my working papers. I'm homeschooled and all of the public schools around here are out on summer vacation. Can I get it online somewhere? I live in Florida if that makes any difference.

  1. go down to the school department with a photo ID (you need it or you can't get one), a season past to an amusement park that has your name and a photo of you on it will work (a six flags season pass will work, that is what I used). you do not need you SS#

  2. http://www.myflorida.com/dbpr/reg/childl...

I hope this helps   This is a quote from the site:

    Work Permits

"Work Permits" and/or "Working Papers" are not required in Florida and are not issued by either schools or a governmental agency in Florida. Unfortunately, many popular teen employers use applications with the request "If you are under 18, can you supply a Work Permit?" These applications are being used for businesses that have operations in other states that do require Work Permits. The question is not applicable in Florida.

  3. the schools may be out but some of the people still work year round.  the guidance counselors are one of them call your local school and see

  4. This is how it works in OK; I know because I just got a work permit for my daughter...  If you were in school you'd get it from your school.  Since you are not, you should be able to get one from your state Department of Education.  Your parent/homeschool teacher would act as the certifying agent.

  5. You can get it from your high school, in the guidance counselor office.

  6. Well as long as you were born here ( in the USA) your social security number should be enough for your employer But if they're really asking for your work permit then you should ask the teacher that schools you at home. If he/she is a registered teacher, then they have the right to request those documents for you. I remember when i turned 16 .. yea i had to get the permit from my high school and a signature from my counselor. But since you are homeschooled it shouldn't be any different. Just ask your teacher. If you can't figure it out by doing that then you can also call the social security center and tell them that you're home schooled. They should be able to help you out.

Now if you are from another country, and don't have your social security number, then I'm sorry you have to wait for your green card. That was also the case for me when I moved here from Brazil, I had to wait to get my green card/social security number, in order to be qualified as an employee. But yea.
