Potassium Nitrate, because it is part of explosives, is sold under restriction and you would need to get it from a chemical supply firm, of which Nampa, Idaho, population 79K and the second largest in the state (thank you WikiP) which surprises me as I never heard of it before, probably doesn't have.   Putting chemical supply into Google for near Nampa returns places in Boise.
