Need clean beaches, nightlife, naturistic surroundings, small villages around if possible. Prefer a place where I can have an all inclusive package at a resort, but be able to tour around the city, or other small towns/villages nearby to keep us busy. we will probably rent a car too. Three girls going ages of 25 plus. Have any of you been?

  1. By all means check out Cuba.  My suggestion would be Trinidad.  You fly into Cienfuegos and the resorts at Trinidad are on  Playa Ancon, a fantastic beach, the town is only about ten kilometres away. lots of history and it's well known for its music scene,  Check the links below they cover much of Cuba.

  2. I've travelled to Mexico and other parts of the Caribbean and they're all beautiful. But, Cuba is definitely the place you'll want to go. For one thing, foremost, Cuba is SAFE. It is one of the safest places to travel to, especially for females (although you still need to be careful and use common sense naturally).

Cuba's beaches are gorgeous and clean. The water is so clear and beautiful shades of turquoise and powdery white sand. The island also has beautiful flamingos everywhere and the snorkelling is amazing. You're looking for naturistic surroundings and Cuba has it all.

As for small villages, for sure you will be able to travel through the towns and nearby cities.

I recommend Cayo Coco because it is an awesome part of Cuba...it's in the cayos (the keys) and the resort Tryp Cayo Coco is tops. (Sol Meliá hotel chain...excellent!!)

However, that said, it's a little secluded from the mainland and you would need to drive about 45 minutes over the causeway to go into the nearby town. It would be a great trip to take and safe...and the resorts offer day trips as well. You can take a car, a taxi for the day. But if you wish to be closer to town and be in direct contact with the locals next to your resort, then you may consider other areas.

Richard K mentioned Trinidad to you and he's right about the surroundings and being known for its lively music.

Another area you can consider is Santa Lucia/Camaguey. It is beautiful there and you can go into the town day or night...as well as take in the historical sites.

Santiago de Cuba has a lot of sites to see...a lot of history and culture. Santiago is the capital of son (style of music) and other forms of Cuban music.

Then there's Holguin and Playa Esmeralda (Guardalavaca). You may feel relaxed and comfortable there too. Nearby town with the locals and beautiful resorts. Paradisus Río de Oro is a nice resort.....5* and excellent amenities.

Or Sol Río De Luna y Mares is one you may choose. These are both Sol Meliá resorts and will for sure find excellent quality for food, accomodations, entertainment, etc.

If you do go to Cuba, try to go to Havana. Even though you may decide to stay somewhere that would take a day's drive to Havana, the resorts still offer a day trip there or even a two day trip. You'll enjoy that. But if you don't do it this time, you'll have plenty of opportunity the second or third time (since you'll always want to go back).

But take a look at all the links and see what interests you since everyone's tastes and ideas for vacation vary.

Cuba is amazing though. The Cubans are very warm, hospitable and kind-hearted. They love people and they love life....they also love genuine friends too.

If you go to Cuba this time, I guarantee you'll be back in no time.

  3. They all have nice beaches , but I prefer Cuba.

Cuba is a safer place than Mexico and Brazil. The top place for all inclusives and great beaches is Varadero two hours by car from Havana. If you like a city with historical monuments,

salsa dancing, street markets, nightlife, the tropicana show etc visit Havana.

    Have a nice trip

  4. cozumel, mexico is awesome! It's a tiny island right off Mexico. I went there and swam with dolphins! Cozumel is amazing. (depending on which part you go to)

  5. CUBA I SUGGEST YOU GO TO HABANA, HOLGUIN(GUARDA LA VACA BEACH, AND PEZQUERO BEACH), CIENAGA DE ZAPATA. YOU SHOULD ALSO GO TO TRINIDAD IT'S BEAUTIFULL BUT DEFINILLY GO TO HOLGUIN

  6. I'd say it would be a toss up between Mexico and Cuba.

Mexico, specifically in the Cancun/Mayan Riveria area is great for adventure. My favourite resort is the Bahia Principe Tulum who shares a massive property with its sister resorts the Akumal and Coba. The beach there is pretty clean (not as nice as Cuba to be honest...but it still has the white sand and crystal clear water). While there you can enjoy the luxuries of being at an all inclusive resort. The Mayan Ruins which is a must see is not far and has a beautiful beach attached to it. Simply breathtaking! A town that is also not far called Playa Del Carmen is great. Lots of tourists with stores ranging from sporting goods to hair braiding stands. Across you can vaguely see Cozumel. The bus that you can take there is pretty much like a van which is a neat experience. Also there are nightclubs in Cancun if your into that (just be safe). Renting cars is probably also easy :)

In Cuba the girl basically above covered it. I would just also like to add the island of Cayo Santa Maria not far from Cayo Coco is a must see. Nobody lives on the island and right now there are only 3 resorts there all owned by the Melia chain. VERY PRETTY!
