I'm thinking about travelling somewhere around Australia during 2 weeks break. I'm now a student in Sydney. Would you recommend me where to go (cheap and enjoyable)? I'm thinking about Uluru, Alicespring, Darwin and Tasmania.

  1. You are going to see autumn in Tasmania -- very nice though cool- Darwin, I don't know about but Alice Springs, and Uluru would be nice at this time of year - not too hot in daytime, not too cold at night. If you intend to do both in the same break, you might be asking a bit much of yourself unless you fly.

  2. Carnes is good, not sure about cheap through; its big on backpackers so i guess it would be reasonable.

  3. I would forget all the touristy places.

This is what I would do:

    1. Get a car.

    2. Jump into it and start driving south of Sydney using the Princes Highway

    3. Stop over in great places like Kiam, Narooma, Ulludulla, Batemans Bay, Eden, Merrimbula, and make your way into Victoria.

    4. Skip past Melbourne by going around it

    5. Hit the Great Ocean Road towards Adelaide.

    6. Once you get the 12 Appostles stop and start heading back to Sydney.

Its an amazing trip and should be done by all.
