Where to go camping and attractions to visit South West?

I want to take my 7 year old son camping mid August for 3 days and 2 nights (Mon-Wed). Can anyone suggest a decent camp site preferably near the south coast plus any attractions/things to do.

as this question is posted in the UK general section, I presume you mean the south west of England? in which case the suggestion above of Texas is a bit off the mark

the Bournemouth - Weymouth area is pretty good

I live in Galveston, TX and there is some pretty cool campsites down here.  It depends on what your looking for.  Padre Island has some pretty nice sites.  The Austin area has some cool rivers and lakes that have a lot of fun attractions.
