  1. There is a great shore excursion called Cavern by Jeep tour.

You take the ferry to Playa del Carmen and drive jeeps to a cavern with an underground river.  You get to swim in the underground river which is a unique experience because they don't even let you touch the water in caverns in the US.

Then back to the jeeps and you drive to a private beach for some fun in the sun and an authentic Mexican meal.

The private beach is very nice and secluded.  It is some great quite time.

Back to the jeeps and the ferry returns you to Cozumel.

Avoid the mall in Cozumel and shop in the open air or port shops for the best deals.

  2. Playa Del Carmen Beach - it is breath taking!!   You can go and snorkel, or just swim.  Take a cab there for $5.00 per person.  It is worth the trip.  Just beautiful.

  3. Carlos & Charlies, Chakanubb (sp) Park, (great snorkling and scuba diving), downtown shopping is AWSOME and cheap.

  4. a lot of people use that as a way to go see the Mayan ruins but that can be expensive and a long trip to get their so book that trough the cruise line to make sure the ship is there when the tour is over. If you stay on the island of Cozumel, there is a lot to do there to, most popular is scuba diving and snorkeling.

We went to San Gervais the ruins on the island, they are really nice, but smaller than the ones on the mainland. there is plenty of beaches and cabs to take you to where you want to go. most of the beaches you have to pay but there is a free public beach that is beautiful, that is where our cab took us. just remember it is a 3 world country still, and it is OK and fun to haggle in the shopping
