I am planning to spend a day out in London, would you mind suggest the places I should to visit to take the picture and get a feeling of the city by a travel day tube card? Thank you very much.

  1. try and fit in 'covent garden'... it's got a great atmosphere..

  2. I went on the tube last month for the first time, for me it wasn't the 'pleasantest' of experiances, but others loved it. We went to Oxford street shopping, and saw landmarks and places such as Buckingham palace, London eye, big ben, trafalger squere, and also went to the national history museum, which is FREE. And we saw Johnny Vegas in there lol.

  3. Camden Market is lots of fun, as is Oxford Street and China Town!

  4. Go for what interests YOU.

URL for suggestions below to pick from.

But one way to get some excellent scene-setting photos of many London features is to take a river trip from Westminster pier (By the Houses of Parliament, you'll probably be there at some point anyway) at least to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, or a longer trip out to the Thames Barrier and back.

Superb views, and no tired feet.

The only trouble with a tube card is that you don't get to see London apart from the bits where you surface, which can make it feel disjointed.  Yes, the buses are slower, and the open-top hop-on-hop-offf circular tourist buses more expensive, but (unless the weather's awful) you might get a better feel for London that way.

  5. China Town (lovely atmosphere, smells fantastic and if you like Chinese you'll love it)

Trafalgar Square is beautiful, as is Leicester Square (which is near China Town). Hyde Park, the London Eye, Oxford Street, Big Ben, Parliament Square, and I'd recommend a walk along the embankment in the sunshine and then crossing over the river to the South Bank.

Its the most beautiful city in the world, you'll love it :) x

  6. We also enjoyed the Tower of London- fascinating! We actually enjoyed using the busses rather than the tube- we could see the neighborhoods pass by which was interesting. And the bus system is very easy to negotiate. have fun- London really is the most fabulous city in the world!

  7. Give this ago if time is on your side

  8. Have a look at what users of the Enjoy England website have said about their 'best day out' in London -

    Have a great day!
