Where to go in Mexico with a young child?

I want to take my 6 year old daughter on vacation this year and I was thinking about Mexico. It will just be the two of us. Do you know of a good family place in Mexico? I don't want to go anywhere that will be overcrowded by "spring breakers". I plan on doing all inclusive, so I am sure I would avoid some in most places. However, I want my daughter to be able to use the pool and whatnot without being run over by 18 year olds. Any thoughts? Somewhere that centers around families perhaps.

  1. mexico might not be the greatest idea. when my parents went to mexico they got violently ill since their water isnt the cleanest. try maybe toronto or somewhere in canada during the summer??

These guys handle everything watersports,Car Rental, Room related as well as Private Charters. Call them. You will be impressed by Rob and Al 1-888-862-3806 Were are going back in 4 weeks again. They will handle everything for our family next trip.

  3. well Xcaret is great!!!but its in Cancun and in spring break its gonna be super crowded especially with the young ones

aguascalientes is a great place..but whatever you do do not go to Mexico city because it si dagerous and you will have to be wathcng ur backs the whole time....if u do go to Mexico City....stay in a safe place like La Zona Rosa at the hotel El Principito its a great hotel!!!and safe.....when in Mexico City there is a great place for children called La Ciudad DE loS Ninos....its great for ur 6 yr old child and ull even have fun!!!

  4. Xcaret is the park the other person was talking about, and I agree, it'd be perfect for a little girl.

In the same area is a state called Yucatan and the capital, Merida, is a very pretty and quiet city. You can stay there and go to close by towns and ruins... there are very pretty places close by like Celstum.

  5. i recntly went on a cruie with my family. It was the royal carribean " jewel of the seas" it was loads of fun. I have a little sister who is six. We went to Mexico on the cruise. We went to Cozumel and Playa de carmen. ( they are strongly reccomended! Playa de carmen has and AMAZING park called Excaray ( cant spell it right) but it had loads of wildlife, snorkoling and other fun things! I suggest you try that. ( especially on a cruise!) they have ton's of things for the kids. My sister absolutly LOVED IT im sure yours will to! good luck! :)

  6. My advice is to travel anywhere in central Mexico, avoid the beaches like the plague....as you said they will be invaded by rowdy, lawless springbreakers....

There are a lot of place where you can go, at the end I mention some....and as always, do not matter where you go, even within the the USA or Canada, only drink bottled water, it is widely sold everywhere. The only thing is that the majority of the site are in Spanish, but if you need any translations just email me directly and I will gladly help you....The other way to do it is to google "family vacations mexico" only avoid the beaches as I said.

  7. I would agree that your 6 year old will love xcaret. We took our kids there when they were 3 and 5.  They loved it more than Disney Land. Dolphins to swim with, great shows, butterflies, great swimming places....I could go on. We stayed at the Wyndham Maya in Playa. The kids love Mexico.
