Question:

Where to go ......?

My grandad is coming over very soon and has asked me where I would like to go , im not sure I was thinking of inviting my best friend should I ? and here are the places I thought of :

I live in the north east of England :

The dungeons

Metro centre

Flamingoland

any other ideas of local areas : thanks in advance

  1. How about National Trust or English Heritage sites? They are excellent ideas for a good day out and it won't cost the Earth.

    Perhaps not as "exciting" as some of the places you mention, but just as enjoyable.


  2. Where would he like to go?  If he's coming to you, he might like to go to some places and do a bit of sightseeing.

    I was up in the NE last summer (in the rain!) and we went to Bamburgh Castle, the Farne Islands, Alnwick Castle water gardens, Lindisfarne, and also spent a week around the North York Moors where we went to Whitby, Scarborough, Danby Forest etc.  

    There's also Beamish museum, which we didn't get to go to, but it looked worth a visit.

    If you go to York (assuming that's where the dungeons are), you could go on a ghost walk.  Also Whitby do Dracula walks.

  3. u should visit the palaces in london- like tower of london, Wisler castle, Buckingham palace....

Hey you alright mate i'm from the north east as weel (Hartlepool) What about Hartlepool Historic Quay, Shildon/York Railway museum, the transporter bridge in Middlesbrough, Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Redcar, Saltburn, Scarborough, South/North Shields, Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the pennines or Beamish
