I am going to the southern part of Ireland on the 25th of May next year and have never been there before. Anybody have any suggestions for live music or festivals that I should look in to?

  1. I am not sure about the time of year, but Cork has some wonderful music festivals in the spring/summer. Cork is also a youthful, vibrant city. Kinsale is a small, charming, fishing village near Cork with some of the best seafood restaurants! Good luck and have a wonderful trip!

  2. Go to the bars and toe up!  LOL

  3. Go to www.ticketmaster.ie and you'll be able to find a list of all the different things going on at that time. Galway is a beautiful place, a few hours drive from Dublin- but there are good transport links. Temple Bar is a great area of Dublin full of good pubs and good 'craic' (an irish word- roughly translated as fun). Hope that helps!

  4. I hope you are renting a car.  Just drive to any town in Ireland and someone, somewhere will be playing in a local pub.  Ask local people - the Irish are among the friendliest folks in the world.  Cork is wonderful, the Ring of Kerry is wonderful, Wicklow is my personal favorite.

You will have a wonderful time and I envy you!
