  1. Find a local community clinic. You can probably contact the Dept of Human Services in your city to get referrals or contact the local emergency rooms and ask for numbers to local clinics. The clinics usually operate on a sliding scale fee or cater to only low income families.  Good Luck.

  2. the E.R

  3. free clinics.

  4. local g.p ?

  5. You SHOP for medical care. Tell them you want the CASH PRICE. That it will not be filed with Insurance. You will find that you will have much better pricing.

Example: My husband needed to see the doctor. It would have been $149.00 but I asked for CASH PRICE and it was $59.00.  Because they get the insurance money and often write off a part too. You just need to be able to pay the cash price at the time of service.

Medicine: Check on generic pricing, and even then ask for CASH PRICE. See if the prescription is one that Walmart carries for $4.

Example: My medicine was originally $92.00 and I ended up only having to pay $38.00. SERIOUSLY!

  6. There is this great company called Ameriplan. They offer health, dental , prescriptions and lots more for really cheap. Anyone can get qualified and they really work when you are not covered by other insurance companies!

  7. Come to Canada. Here everybody has health insurance, and dont believe the myths about waiting in line forever and not getting treatment. I go to the doctor, and I'm seen within 30 minutes, always, and my son had to go to the hospital for an appendix operation, they had him in in under an hour and gave him all the bloodwork needed and all.

  8. NOT the E.R. unless you have a true emergency.  Cheapest place is usually an urgent care clinic.
