I really want to ride an elephant,

be near the beach

but have the GREAT and CHEAP shopping opourtunities like china?

Somewhere like China maybe? but where?

Bali (in Indonesia) is the answer you are looking for.

It is an Island - obviously with beaches and Asian elephants on which you can ride. There is really cheap shopping there -like china.

Your other option would be Thailand - but I think the beaches are in the South and the elephants in the north. There is amazing cheap and good quality shopping in Bangkok.

Thailand has elephants I believe, is cheap once you get there, and has some of the world's prettiest beaches.
