I have a 04 avalanche that im putting a system in. im keeping the factory radio cuz its a 6 disc changer and i have the controles for it at the wheel. i ran my power and ground for the amp and have everything hooked up. im having best buy install for me an adapter that allows me to hook up the rca cables to it for my factory radio. it hooks up to the speaker cables the the rca cables hook into that then into the amp. that will cost me about $30. my box is in and wired to the amp and the only thing is my remote wire for the amp. i have no clue where to run the wire to. i know i need a power source that turns on and off with my car. i dont have a test light to find one as well. also i dont have a power ant. can anyone tell me what to do. i havent ran any wires to my fuse box cuz i dont know how to mess with the box and dont want to mess anything up. best buy wont do it for me cuz they have to put the amp in for me and i didnt buy the amp from them as well.

  1. Only thing I would add is the 16awg wire is way bigger than you need. 18 or 20 awg is fine. It does not carry any current. Just needs to have 12 v present to turn it on.

  2. find the radio fuse clearly marked . not high voltage , 16 gauge wire from fuse to remote side of amp . or power on side , you will not need to place inline fuse in circut . run the wire under the panels that are called door sills . these are the ones that wre silver . were the door closes, opens on , held in place 5 phillips screws or may pop out . if they pop out just look under car push up . easy after that v. good luck .
