Where to install tweeters?

I bought some Apline type S comps and i'm wondering where the best place to put them the tweeters in my 97 neon. I think I there are factory's in the dash facing the windshield, seems like it might be a lot of work to get to though.

I want to know what will sounds best.

Either put them in the dash (it's not that hard, just a few screws and most dashes pop off) or make some new spots in the doors...

It's really easy either way...

Shoot for keeping the tweeters at ear level or above if at all possible. Keeping them aimed at you is also another thing to take into consideration. Human ears can pick up high frequency sounds like there's no tomorroww. They can point out exactly where they are, unlike bass from subwoofers. Bass is non-directional, high frequencies are. I have my tweeters mounted on the doors...basically where the side mirrors are. Its sorta hard to explain. I hope my answer helps you out and good luck with your audio system.

The best  location for tweeters (contrary to popular belief) is actually as close to the main woofer of the component set as possible, not high or at ear level. This will provide the best sound stage, you can adjust the direction of the tweeter for the best imaging. I recommend kick panels if possible for best sound, kick panels will help to equalize the distance from the L and R speakers to your ears.
