  1. Military pay is based on rank and all the branches get paid the same. If you want to learn about how much you'll be paid in the military and the types of benefits there are check out: http://todaysmilitary.com/benefits/compe...

  2. Considering you are Married, you can't base it all on salary. They offer housing and family allowances, for married people. If you want to spend any considerable amount of time together, i suggest he try to get into the air force. You will be allowed to travel with him to his duty station, unless it is a forward operations base. If he h  as any higher education that helps too, as he might qualify for an advanced rank from the gettgo. He should think about what he wants to do, as far as a job, and go talk to a recruiter. He is not obligated to join. You could probably find out about a bunch of this stuff online. Plus they offer signing bonuses in some branches. You can chat live with a recruiter too. Heres a link.

  3. Neither gets paid more..Pay goes by rank and time served and not branch..

  4. All get paid the same.

His base pay would be over that starting out if he entered as a E-2.  Usually you can do this either by having college or passing a PT test before you go in (Physical Fitness Test).

Somethings to also think about is that you receive a housing allowance and food allowance on top of that.  (he may or may not receive these while in training because they are feeding and putting a roof over his head).

There are a lot of additional benefits to the military, the number one being health care.  But have your hubby research everything and make sure that this is right for him!

  5. They all get paid the same.

  6. The pay is based on the current 08 Military pay chart. Most people who join start off as an E-1. However there are some things people can do to get promoted before shipping out to basic training. Such as the Army has a basic training task list. If the person completes it they will come in as an E-2, if they refer someone who joins they will also get promoted. Check out the link below and go and see an Army Recruiter.

  7. Pay is the same in all branches of the Military.  A "Newbee" can expect to get paid $1347.00 per month.  You will recieve additional money if you have a family. The amount is based on your zip code while in basic training and then will be detemined on your duty station after training.   More so than money, make sure your husband joins a branch that is family friendly and has the Morale Welfare Resources (MWR = Social resources) to support your family.

Military pay will increase with each promotion in pay grade as well as the 1st of each year!
