Where to learn to play guitar?

ok, so my friends brothers friend showed me his intense guitar skills, I've always wanted to learn but this did it for me, I want to know where I can learn to play guitar, my friends brothers friend said he hasnt ever had a lession, and hes really good, so would i be able to go online for free and learn? thank you!

learn how to read tabs.i learned off of just them.u just haft to learn how to read them

I've been playing guitar since before the internet was even thought of, and I'm totally self taught. I'm assuming you have an instrument to practise on? Your first step is to learn some chords. Buy a chord book and learn from that. Choose 2 or 3 easy ones, like A D E. learn to fonger them pushing down hard enough to make the strings sound, then learn to change between them. It's gonna hurt the fingers, but it will be worth it!.
