Where to live in Australia?

I am living in New Zealand and am thinking of moving to either the Gold Coast or Brisbane.

Which is the best University to attend with Psychology and Criminology courses (course, cost and travel wise).

Where is the best place to live for my partner and I (20 and 24yrs) and our two cats. We wont have any furniture so will need a place that is furnished. $300 a week max would be our budget on rent.

We wont have a car so will need to live quite central or close to public transport such as buses.

Is Seek a good website to use to find and get a job? We would want to have secure jobs to go to as soon as we arrive.

Any other suggestions? I would love some advice or to have a good chat to someone from either the Gold Coast or Brisbane as I have no idea where to start and there is so much to plan!

  1. Yes your questions are not intelligent. But I can tell you that the Gold Coast is the best place to live if you enjoy the beach life.

  2. Most of your questions are difficult to answer, as it will depend on the Uni you go to.

However seek.com.au is a very good website for jobs, although there are plenty of other sites also.

www.jobsearch.gov.au - Australian Government Job Agency Search Facility

www.workplace.gov.au - More Information on Jobs, Wages, Unions etc.

Renting a place with furniture is not very common, and may be an important area for you to check up on.

It may also be worth looking into buying a furniture package, at least to begin with, and renting unfurnished.  Some of the packages being advertised are not too expensive.

http://www.fantasticfurniture.com.au/sho...  is one that you may find interesting.
