My family and I are heading out to Chicago, IL this weekend. We are staying at 111 W. Adams St. in Downtown Chicago. This will be our first time going. We will have rental cars, but where do we park them overnight? Thanks in advance.

  1. You could park at the hotel or one of the many parking garages around but expect to pay up to $35/night.  Hotel parking is not free, unfortunately.  You can also use google maps for your location and find nearby parking.

This website gives you parking locations also.

An alternative is to park at Midway Airport and take the Orange Line to the downtown area....about a 30 minute ride and a whole lot cheaper.

  2. If you can find an open spot, you can park for free on Adams between S. Wells St. and S. Clark St. from 6PM to 6AM.  If you are willing to leave that early this could work for you otherwise you will likely be in a pay lot.  I would recommend not having a rental car.  It is so much cheaper to take cabs, trains, and buses or walk than to pay for a rental car and parking.  Anywhere you drive the car in the city will require you to pay to park it there too.
