Where to place infant seat, in LATCH side seat or middle seat without LATCH?

So my car is equipped with LATCH behind the passenger seat and driver seat but not in the middle. The middle seat just has a shoulder/lap belt. I have one child in a booster and am expecting soon.

Do I put the infant in a LATCH side seat or middle w/out LATCH, which is more important?

  1. Wherever you can get the best install.  Check out the message board below for great carseat techs.

  2. The middle because that has the highest crumple zone of any vehicle.

  3. You can get a goon install with either one, so whichever place your seat installs best. Another thing to consider is that they say you should put the least protected child (your boostered little one) in the most protected place (the center), but you  have to consider if the seats will fit well next to each other.
