Where to place subwoofer (computer speakers)?

Question

Where is the best place to put my subwoofer to get the best sounding bass? I have it on my desk right now, but I've heard that the bass will sound louder or have more of a "thump" if it's under my desk. Is that true?

I have a Logitech Z-2300 I use with my computer. The bass is good, but I want it to be even better. Will the location even make any difference?

Location isn't terribly important for subwoofers.  But if you want to maximize it, put it in a corner.  This enhances the bass.
