Where to position boat motor tilt for top speed?

  1. to put it simply as possible, you're going to get the most speed when your motor is pushing the boat forward (think of vectors and physics from high school).

    If your tilt is too high, your motor will be pushing the stern into the water, if it's not high enough, you're lifting the stern, and in turn, pushing the bow down.

    What does this all mean? You want the motor to be pushing the boat forward. Not up, not down.. STRAIGHT forward... and as the previous post alluded to, it will make your boat plane quicker, increasing your speed.
