Where to put all the stuff??? (storage help?!)?

Question

-moving to much smaller apartment

-getting rid of lots of stuff but...

-still have too much stuff for tiny bedroom

-If you have any suggestions on way to store thing cheaply and in a small space ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!

- also ideas for not nessisarily "storing" but for example if don't have room for big dresser and NO CLOSETS ways to put away clothes cheaply (it does not have to look nice) that would also be a HUGE help!!!

There are loads of options, and if you're creative you can even make it look nice.  Check out www.hgtv.com for ideas.  My thoughts:

~ Under bed storage. You can buy or make bins, even put some wheels on the bottom for easy access.  This can work as a dresser, as well as storage for books, blankets, etc.

~ If you don't have floor space, go up!  Hang shelves on the wall.  Hang a rod under a shelf for hung clothes.  Put your bed on a platform (loft - many college towns have companies that install lofts in dorm rooms, etc.) and put a small dresser and/or desk underneath.  

~ Over-the-door shoe holder.  Doesn't even have to hold shoes -- put scarves, socks, jewelry, etc. in them too!

~ Have fun and experiment.  Make a trip to your local hardware store for inexpensive diy ideas.

We bought several older suitcases and use them for storage.  They're easy to stack and can be used as side tables.  One of the suitcases had writing on it which we didn't like so we decoupaged copies of old travel stickers on it.
