Where to put things??????????

Hi I am having my mom and a friend help me with storage today that is all messed up upstairs. It involves teaching material, my dad's things (he passed away), my wedding stuff, pictures, clothes and lots of filth. I want to get a head start before they get here and I have no clue where to begin....any suggestions?

start with sorting...mark baskets for each category...teaching in one, dad's things in another, wedding, pictures, etc...then when that's done, get storage boxes, plastic totes are best, and mark them and store them away for future keeping. It's alot of work, but worth it. I have found things this way that I wouldn't have if I hadn't of organized.  Sorry about your dad:( God Bless...

Start by packing your wedding stuff. You won't need that again.

Next pack your teaching material: You will need that again, preferably safe and organized.

Wait for your mom on your dad's things: She'll want a say in what happens with that.

After that will pretty much sort itself out. But be prepared to use a lot of garbage bags to throw away stuff, and be prepared to do a lot of scrubbing.

Start at the entrance. Sounds like you really need some shelving, and a clothes rod or two. Organize what you want to keep, and everything else........out.

you get yourselves a couple of storage bins, and a few garbage bages..... Label , Teaching supplies, Memeries, Rummage sale, Trash, Good Will/Church outreach (or what ever your community has!)

It is all pretty much self explanatory! Just do not get to carried away on the Memeries Limit yourself to like 2 boxes!!!!  You will be glade you did!!!! We do this every couple of years with our own things as well as the kids stuff with them helping!!! Because you cant keep everything, but if you have too.... take pictures of the stuff and put on cd to look at yrs later, or even record the clean-up!!!! A cd is pretty small, and can mean so much!
