Where to recycle something if city doesn't accept it?

Unfortunately, my town only accepts #1 and #2 plastic.

I've got a bunch more things that can be recycled but if no recycling companies in town will accept them, can I still drop them off somewhere where they will maybe be shipped off to a company that does recycle that kind?

Or do I have to go with the ultimatum of, I either have to drive to another city that'll take them or otherwise throw them away?

  1. call the clean up people

  2. if you are talking about that the truck pics up, yeah u cant do anything about it, but u can go to the recycling plant and see if they accept other things

  3. Right now it dosn't seem like you can do anything about it. But I do think you should write a letter to your city's council about the issue.

  4. I saw an article online that suggested sending the products back to the production company with a letter explaining that they should make their products out of renewable resources in order to help the environment.

I haven't done it yet, but I think it's a brilliant idea. If enough people were to do it I think they might take the hint and change their packaging.

  5. This is a sad fact that shows that we need to stand up and do the right thing when no selfish person will help.It seems that the big fat stomached people need to be educated.I can so very understand your concern.

  6. I've found this site useful for finding other places:
