Question:

Where to ride horse?

If your horse was boarded on a secondary highway (paved) that is busy at times, would you ride in the ditch of very long grass? Is that safe to ride in unknown ditches where you can't see the ground?

Or would you take the side of the road to the next turn off?

  1. I take the ditch many times,  If you are concerned with what is in the ditch, why not take a walk through the ditch to check for debris, broken bottles, whatever, clean it up (the county will be pleased) and then you know what you are riding in.  I am assuming that this is just a small drainage ditch that followes along most country roads.  If you have a friend with an atv..have them make a path with it and that also helps with seeing what lies ahead.  I would also take the road to the next turn off when ever possible.

  2. ya i agree with the first answer

  3. i would go with the next turnoff because you dont know if theres anything in the grass in the ditch that might spook your horse
