Where to see wildlife in Western India? Pune area. Paddleing also?

I will be working in Pune area for three months, but will have time off to go to temples. Great! I also want to learn about agriculture and gardening, spices and your beautiful fabrics and food. I would love to do some easy boating (kayak or raft), and see some animals and birds and fish I cannot see in the U.S.. Large or small. I love the outdoors. Should I wait till I get there and do tours or hook up with some wonderful locals? I'm 52 yr old female, so don't want to go rock climbing. (smiles)

Also when you reach Pune, go/see on line to the Govt of Maharashtra Tourism.

Also you can go to Karnatak. And Goa.

Karnatak is a safe State. Plenty of agriculture. Cofee in Coorg. Some spics too. Tata has holiday cottages there.

Tea in the Nilgiris.

Goa has beaches and all. So has kerela and Mangalore areas. You have the names. Google them.

But seeing your are F and age, I'd not suggest excursions into interior alone. These days we hear a lot of incidents.

Stay with groups and take care.

Not so close, but try visiting Diu- there are nice beaches, monuments and Geer forests where you can see real Lions.
