Where to serve National Service?

Question

I'm a Singaporean studying in Taiwan and i'm now in a dilemma. If i serve NS in S'pore, i'm have to give up my studies. Yet, i don't want to loose my nationality as a Singaporean. Give me some suggestions ( i have 2 passports). Thanks.

just call up mindef (or via email), explain to them u are studying, mail them the prove. get a defer done offically and legally. after your study, return to sg for your 2 yr ns. (it used to be 2.5yr).

Alternatively, you do not return to sg, you will be class as AWOS. upon your return you will be arrested and serve 2 yr DB (Military jail). and that is all you have to do. no reservist at all.

by the way, if u are a singaporean, pls get some of your friend to help u in sg. they are giving out GST package to please its people.
