Question:

Where to start for photo booth rental for wedding?

I'm getting married in November 2009 and I wanted to rent a photo booth for the reception. I'm a fun, quirky person so it matches perfectly with my personality. My only concern is that they are about $1000-1200 for three to four hours. Is this normal? And does anybody have companies that they can suggest. I thought about doing the disposable cameras all around the reception but I like the idea of a photo booth better. I'm in the Louisville, KY area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  1. We went to a wedding that the bride and groom had a camera and table set-up with polaroid photos, a scrap book and pens and markers.  People took photos of each other and entered them into the scrapbook themselves with a little message.

  2. they are very expensive and some venues wont allow you to bring one in.

Alternative- get instant cameras and film!

  3. I am getting married in Cincinnati, Ohio so not too far from you. I am having a photobooth as well for my reception. I paid $1395 for the largest package and it includes 5 hours rental with the attendant, unlimited photos, 2 strips of photos printed - 1 for the guest and 1 that will go into a scrapbook type thing that the guests can sign, magnetic strip for photo, the scrapbook itself, and a dvd or thumbprint drive with all the photos taken. I haggled a bit with the guy and asked if I paid in full that day (I was at a bridal show at the convention center) would he knock $100 off for paying in full up front. I think it is well worth it. I think the same company I am using does travel to Louisville. I will add the link. That is the normal price at least average. I have known people in other parts of the country here on YA that has paid more than that though.

I like the photobooth much better than disposables as well. Too many times people either pocket the disposables or you have a ton of goofy pics and some that don't even come out that you pay for. Since you have well over a year could you possibly save X amount every month? I also included this as one of my favors so if you can skip normal favors and have the photobooth.

I def think it is worth it!

  4. If you have a laptop available, we had people that downloaded pics to a slideshow that played in the bar area during the reception.  Photos that were taken moments before were available for viewing.

That was my photographer's doing - he's so crafty!

There are party rental companies that might give you a break if you have several rental items.  Moonbounce for the kids?  Outdoors in the summer would be great for a snow cone station.  There's a video production thing that puts people's heads on top of ones in a video, and they sing and dance for part of a song.  Either they can sing, or the video can provide the vocals... and they dance around.  Saw that at an event once, they were having a lot of fun.

Go to a BIG party planning website for ideas.  Hope that helps!

  5. For that price, you could hire a preofessional photographer and have a photo set to take photos in, like they do at proms sometiems.

  6. try this.  congratulations on your wedding and the best of luck to you.
