Where to start with business??

Question

My sister just started selling homemade soaps & lotions at flea markets & wants to venture out to the internet. She wants to get her own website and everything, but I told her to start with Ebay first. Was I correct to suggest this?

Ebay works ok ive tried it a couple times but wasnt totally satisfied.  I just started this site 3 days ago http://www.squidoo.com/internetentrepren... and its looking promising. They teach you how to make your own website to sell stuff and they host your websites for free.  my buddy has been doing it for 2 yrs and makes $20,000.

Research on eBay first to see how well or bad the similar products are sell.  Also try Etsy.com.  They sell all hand-made stuff

Yes there is no larger marketplace on the planet than Ebay. Tell her to start slow and start listing several products per day. When her sales are starting to move she should open her own Ebay Store. There is no better way for a newbie in the business world to be able to compete with the big boys. My wife became a PowerSeller in under a year. Good Luck to you guys.
