Where to stay in Cancun Mexico?

I am planning a vacation to Cancun Mexico and I was wondering if anybody ever stayed at the Barceló Maya Beach & Caribe. If you have then what are you opinions and was it a nice place to visit?

I've been to Cancun several time now, and the last three times I have stayed at a resort called the Riu Palace Las Americas--it's an all inclusive resort.  If you have never been to Cancun before you should definitely think about this place because it is not only reasonable in pricing, but it is a very nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff.  I promise you won't be disappointed if you book a trip there!  Check out this link....................

The Barcelo is nice, but it is not in Cancun.  If you are into the bar-hopping scene, this would not be a good choice for you.

I have stayed at the Riu Las Americas and my husband and I were very disappointed.  I personally would not go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know.  Sorry.  The food was horrible, we ended up having to eat out every night.

Barcelo Maya Beach is not in Cancun.  It is located 2 hours away from Cancun.
