  1. Anywhere in West Cork trust me its beautiful!

  2. Jurys Inn

  3. Stay in a Bed & Breakfast.

They are so cozy to stay in and they are all over Irelend.

When you are looking for one make sure it has a sign in the front that has a green shamrock.

That means it has been approved and it is a nice place.

  4. I'd hire a cottage or house for a week, I remember i went to Dorrus in West Cork, past Schull, absolutely beautiful part of the world, it really is.  Baltimore is full of empty holiday homes owned by Americans and Germans, so that could be dead in January.

the tourist website is www.discoverireland.com or google cottages to rent, its cheaper than B&Bs, and you'll have more time to relax and discover at your own pace. I loved it down there. Must go back

  5. Depends on where in Cork... do you mean Cork city or County Cork?

The weather is likely to be fairly crappy in January (rainy/dreary) but not that cold.

If you're staying in Cork City, you could always do Jury's Inn http://corkhotels.jurysinns.com/

The Ambassador hotel is a bit more upmarket..  http://www.ambassadorhotel.ie/

Or there are a lot more B&Bs on the north and south ring road...

If you're going into County Cork, it all depends on what part of the county you're going to... My personal favorite is Kinsale, the gourmet food capital of Ireland  http://www.kinsale.ie/

    Baltimore is nice too... http://www.baltimore-ireland.com/

and I highly recommeding kayaking on Lough Hyne..
