Where to stay in paris????

I am taking my partner to paris for the weekend in september and have never been before, i am looking for a nice but not too expensive hotle to stay in but am struggling to decide which area to stay in, i want to have fun - shopping, pubs restaurants etc.but i also want to see the sights of paris. where should i stay for this??????

Stay in Montmatre or the Opera, there are many site to see there. There are also plenty of metro stations to take you to the central sites.

Paris is quite compact, you can see alot by using a map. All the hotels give them out.Galleries Lafayette( you MUST go here and go to the top floor to the viewing galleries) and the Grands Magasins are here by the Opera.

Do not worry about the reputation of Pigalle. If you are a couple, there will be no hassles.

Both sites have travellers reveiws, and you do not pay until you have stayed.

The 4th, 5th or 6th arrondissments are where you want to stay.
