Hello, I am an international, working in the United States. Yesterday I quitted my job, and would like to explore opportunity to study German aboard.

I can't decide where to study German, whether I should go for Goethe Institut ( Germany), University programs that were recommended by DAAD in Germany, Goethe Institut (Moscow) or other Goethe Institut in the world.

I can't compare their methods and educational level. But all I know is that the Goethe Institut in Germany charge a ridiculous amount of money ( in Euro) -- ( I am paying US dollars). But the University program recommended by DAAD in Germany is much cheaper.

The reason I choose Moscow is that one of my friend live there, and its Goethe Institut offers a superintensive course, which I find it useful to learn as much German as I can in short time.

please advise

  1. I think it always better to study a language in the country of language origin. Germany has another venue you may want to consider: Volkshochschule.

You may want to explore this kind of schooling in any city of Germany. You may be able to sign up for classes for a very reasonable price. Just google Volkshochschule and a German city of your liking,  and information should pop up.
