  1. If you can get in, go to "La Sorbonne" in Paris

    http://www.paris-sorbonne.fr/en/

It is the most prestigious Uni in France.

... and Paris is a nice city to live in as a student ;-) oh la la !

About the system ... Well, hard to explain. Depending on your courses you will have to attend somewhere between 6 and 40 hours a week. Big span there, right? Let's say that the heavier studies (Medicine, Engineering, Law etc) will be close to 30-40 hours, literature and arts closer to 20 hours and social studies could be as little as 6 hours / week.

You can live "on campus" in rooms provided by the Uni, or you can rent your own place.

Meals can be taken "on campus", or you can do your own cooking or dine out.

Social life is great in Paris, especially student life !

What else do you want to know? Maybe one last thing, try to learn french ASAP, because France is not easy to live in if you don't speak it. (Especially all the paper work, and they have a lot of it for everything, ask anyone who has lived there/lives there)

    Good luck!

  2. Reality Check:

You're asking for career advice from a  random group of strangers, amateurs and volunteers on the Internet. We have no idea of what you are going to study.

The results of this choice can alter the entire trajectory of your entire life.

If we get it wrong, we have no responsibility. You cannot sue us for malpractice.

You have already paid for professional assistance from your advisers at school. You are connected to the greatest library the world has ever known, and all you have to do is type some words into Google to take advantage of it.

Doesn't it make sense for you to do some more research?
