Where to surf close to NY city?

Question

I have a week off and promised to take my gf to NY city but also wanna go surfing for at least half the week. What is a good place to go close to NYC? Long island, New Jersey, Cape Cod?

I am a beginner to intermediate surfer. I usually ride a 6'5'' fun board.

It looks like you have tons of options.  Check out the second link.  It will give you a map, list of spots, pictures, quality rating, and description of all the breaks.  

It looks like the best are Pinecones and Sewage Pipe.  ....although, I personally think I'd stay away from Sewage Pipe.  ;)
