Where to travel!?!?

Question

i want to go some where really cool, not the US because i live there, and not canada (no offense!) im thinking somewhere in europe, preferable close to the ocean! but i could definately be somewhere other than europe! somewhere warm would be good, but i just can decide. was thinking dubai? or north africa? or new zealand? idk!

and ideas or suggestions???

but i suggest not travelling because of the bad economy in the us. plus the gas prices are up.

I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.

The north of africa can be really cool although people who have been there definitely chose cooler months. It seems like you have a nice budget in mind so from other people's experiences (and amazing photos) I would say New Zeland would be a great place to go.

From my own experience I found Croatia to be idillic. There's historic pleasant places, cafes, atmosphere is great, cheaper than many other European countries. There are tons of islands and you can travel between them by ferry which makes it a little different than other location. However, what made me go were some pictures I saw in a guide of their beaches. They are mostly rugged stone beaches but the water, WOW! it was clear like the caribbean. I rented a boat for real cheap and went small inhabited islands around an saw the most amazing sunset of my life. Thinking about it makes me want to go back so badly!!!
