Where to visit in Europe?

I want to go to Europe, but I want to know where the best place is and what time of year is the best to go.

My friends recommended Prague, Budapest, Saint Petersburg, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Zurich, but I want to see what kind of suggestions you guys can offer me.

Hehe, ok, here are some suggestions:

1. Germany. Munich, Nuremberg, Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Düsseldorf, and the list could keep on growing. Beautiful cities, a lot of castles, very kind people, but it could get pricey. With a train pass costs will be reduced a lot. Berlin is specially nice, I recommend you going there, definitely. Besides, there are always chances of side trips to Prague and Amsterdam.

2. Go east. I've been to Vienna (geographicaly, but not culturally, more eastern) Bratislava, Budapest, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade. Those are nice places to visit. The Adriatic coast of Croatia is gorgeous,accessibleind beautiful beaches, roman sites, and accesible prices. You should especially go to Split, Dubrovnik, and Hvar.

3. Cities like Paris and London. They're nice, but pricey. The thing I don't like about Paris is that there's a lot of tourists (well, I was a tourist, hehe) but services and prices might get bad. If you go there, try to do what local people do, I bet you'll have more fun.

4. Ok, Prague and Budapest. Very nice places to go, but the same thing as in Paris.

5. Barcelona, beautiful town, it was way better than what I expected.

6. Turkey, for some not part of Europe, but it was my favorite destination.

Tips: use train passes, fly cheap, stay in hostels. Money will fit better, and you'll have a chane to meet great people.

You have chosen some excellent places from what I have heard.

In order of my favorites:  I have been to France (loved it), Italy (liked it a lot), England, Wales, Scotland, and Greece.  They were all nice.  England is very expensive.

Check the weather statistics before you decide.  For example, summer in Scotland is like late fall or early winter compared to New York.  I had to buy two additional jackets in July.
