  1. this place is great, you can watch and pat kangaroos koala's and many more Australian animals

its an hour south of Sydney

  2. Blue Mountains.

  3. Taronga Zoo... or Symbio wildlife park, went there as a kid and loved it.

  4. within 200 klm's to what? in the wild ?

  5. There are heaps of places!

Closest places i can think of are Springwood in The Blue Mountains National Park and possibly The Royal National Park, Kuringai National Park and Lane Cove National park. All those places are on the outer extremeties of Sydney.

But if you are willing to travel a bit further and get definate sightings, Go down the coast to Bream Beach bordering Jervis Bay National Park, and at the caravan park there are plenty of kangaroos, most of which are tame too. Stay a few nights! Bushland and a big lake

  6. Toronga zoo (North Sydney) or The Australian Wildlife park (out in the western suburbs)

  7. have you tried Tooronga zoo ?

  8. Taronga is the “zoo with a view”, located on the shores of Sydney Harbour, just 12 minutes from the city by ferry. More than 2,000 animals live here in settings as similar as possible to their original habitat. Follow a trail at your own pace or join a behind-the-scenes tour. Take the gondola ride to the top of the zoo for great views over the zoo, harbour and city.

Close to Sydney are several award-winning animal attractions. Featherdale Wildlife Park, located on the direct route to the Blue Mountains, allows visitors to get close to an astonishing collection of Australian animals. You can see koalas and hand-feed kangaroos, wallabies and emus as well as meet over 30 species of rare and endangered animals.

The Australian Reptile Park, north of Sydney, is home to Australia’s largest reptiles, giant tortoises and huge pythons. Just south of Sydney is Symbio Wildlife Gardens, famous for its close encounters with dingos, kangaroos and koalas, meerkats and red pandas.

  9. yeah, as others have pointed out, go to Taronga Zoo.

not only you will see some roos but also some Koala's, crocodiles and other animals you would find at a zoo....take a friend and make a good day out of it!

    Enjoy!
